As part of the implementation of the Algerian–Russian bilateral military cooperation program, the corvette “BOIKII” of the Russian Baltic Fleet berthed today, 07
th December 2025, at the Port of Algiers for a three-day stopover.
During this stopover, the head of the mission and the accompanying delegation paid a courtesy visit to the General, Commander of the Central Maritime Front/1
st Military Region, at the headquarters of the Naval Base of Algiers/1
stMilitary Region. The discussions focused on ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and promote the sharing of expertise between the Algerian and Russian navies.
In this context, reciprocal visits will be organized between officers of the Algerian Naval Forces and the crew of the Russian corvette, enabling the exchange of knowledge and experience in the maritime field. Cultural and sports activities will also be scheduled for the benefit of the Russian Navy crew members.
At sea, a joint naval exercise of the “PASSEX” type will be conducted, involving the Algerian Naval Forces High Seas Patrol Vessel “Al-Moutasaddi” and the Russian corvette “BOIKII.” This exercise aims to enhance interoperability between the naval units of both countries and to exchange expertise in maneuvering, operational coordination, maritime communications, and safety operations at sea.
