Holding of the thirty first (31st) session of Maritime Research and Rescue commission meeting
     Within the framework of reinforcing national efforts aiming to guarantying security and safety maritime navigation, the thirty first session (31st) of Maritime Research and Rescue commission meeting was held in March 10th, 2026 at the Admiralty in Algiers’ Naval Base/1stMR, presided by Mr.the Brigadier General, Coast-guard National Service Commander of the Naval Forces Command.

  

     This commission included, in addition to the Ministry of National Defence represented by several ministries and national bodies, among them: Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Energy and Mines and Renewable Energies, Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, Ministry of Interior and Local Communities and Transport, Ministry Health, Ministry of Agriculture, Urban Development and Maritime Fishing, General directorate of National Security, General Directorate of Civil Protection, General directorate of Customs, Algerian Spatial Communications.

  

     During this meeting, the implementation of the thirtieth meeting recommendations were discussed and valorised, and standing on the realized advancement in the Maritime Research and Rescue field. The 2026 activities program related to research and rescue was approved in order to consolidate measures and coordination between different actors in this vital field in addition to advocating a unified work methodology guarantying a quick and efficient response and the efficiency of naval research and rescue system in Algeria.

  

     This meeting reconfirms Algeria’s engagement in assuring the human souls safety at sea and securing maritime navigation in accordance with the international norms throughout a comprehensive approach focusing on permanent operation readiness and strict coordination and the constant update of the adopted systems and measures.
