Algerian-Italian military cooperation
Stopover of the Italian Fregate «VIRGINIO FASAN» at the Algiers’ port
Within the framework of implementing the Algerian-Italian military bilateral cooperation program, the Italian Fregate «VIRGINIO FASAN» docked in April 21st, 2026 at the Algiers’ port in a stopover of three days.
During this stopover, the chieff of mission and his acompanying delegation paid a courtesy visit to Mr the Brigadier-General Commander of the Central Maritime Façade/1stMR at the Algiers’ Naval Base headquarters/1stMR. Cultural and sport activities will be organized for the ship crew members and an a « PASSEX » type exercise will be executed which will allow exchanging expertise between the two countries’ marines.
