On 15 June 2026, Brigadier General, Director General of the National Institute for Criminalistics and Criminology of the National Gendarmerie, presided over the graduation ceremony of the 66
thClass of Judicial Police agents at the National Gendarmerie non-Commissioned officers School of Setif “Martyr Khebaba Abdelwahab” for the 2025/2026 academic year. The class was named in honor of the late moujahid Guerab Lakhdar.
Following the inspection of the formations assembled on the parade ground, the School Commander delivered an address highlighting the main components of the training program, which consisted of two essential phases: basic military training and specialized legal training. He praised the high standard achieved by the graduates and emphasized their readiness to undertake duties related to judicial policing, investigations, scientific and technical police work with high competence and professionalism.
The training program culminated in the taking of the legal oath on June 06th 2026, granting the graduates the status of Judicial Police agents and qualifying them to join various specialized operational units and contribute to investigative missions. The training was further enhanced through a range of practical and professional modules covering scientific and technical policing, modern information and communication technologies, and foreign languages. This approach aims to keep pace with current technological and operational developments, strengthen the preparedness of contract sergeants, and enable them to carry out their future responsibilities with efficiency and a strong sense of professional accountability.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the family of the late moujahid Guerab Lakhdar was honored as a gesture of loyalty and gratitude for the sacrifices made by the martyrs and veterans in service of the nation. This tribute reflects the institution’s commitment to the values of recognition, sacrifice, and devotion. The ceremony concluded with the signing of the School’s Golden Register.
