Mr the Brigadier General, Chief of Staff of the National Gendarmerie, presided, on Wednesday, 22 April 2026, at the headquarters of the National Gendarmerie in Cheraga, over the opening of the national conference entitled: «Information Systems in the Service of Public Security: Reality, Challenges and Prospects», as part of implementing the 2025–2026 year preparation program for National Gendarmerie units and formations.This conference comes within the context of keeping pace with the rapid transformations occurring in the field of digitalization, information and communication technologies, where growing challenges affect public security missions and efficiency and enhancing operational performance efficiency.      This conference witnessed the participation of representatives of the Ministry of National Defence. The proceedings were also marked by the distinguished presence of representatives from several ministerial sectors and national bodies, including the High Commission for Digitalization, the Ministries of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport, Justice, Finance, Health, Public Works and Basic Infrastructure, and National Solidarity, Family and Women’s Affairs, as well as the General Directorate of National Security, the General Directorate of Customs, the General Directorate of Civil Protection, and the National Higher School of Artificial Intelligence. As part of a joint approach to unify efforts and improve coordination in using information systems for public security.      The scope of this seminar was expanded by broadcasting its proceedings via a video conferencing system for the benefit of Regional Commands, Territorial Groups of the National Gendarmerie, and various training establishments. Through scientific and technical presentations delivered by experts from Central Structures, the conference addressed the current state of adopted information systems and the challenges related to their development, as well as the prospects for enhancing their effectiveness in supporting judicial police missions, road safety, and the protection of persons and property, in line with digital transformations and contributing to the improvement of the performance of National Gendarmerie Units in the service of public security.
