On the occasion of Knowledge Day celebrated on April 16th of each year, a commemorative day of the death of the pioneer of the Renaissance and national reform, the scholar Abdelhamid Ben Badis, and in commemoration of the 58th anniversary of the creation of the National Service, the school that has constituted a fundamental pillar for building a righteous and disciplined Algerian citizen, and coinciding with the Heritage Month extending annually from April 18th to May 18th, Mister the Major General, Commander of the Republican Guard presides over this Monday, April 20th 2026, the commissioning ceremony of the Republican Guard Command Museum and the opening of the first edition of the book fair. ![]() the activity was opened by a speech of Mister the Major General, in which he highlighted the importance of this occasion in strengthening cultural and historical awareness, as well as, preserving the national memory of the military institution, stating: “ … the organization of the first edition of the book fair is not just a passing cultural activity, but a confirmation of the pivotal role that science and knowledge paly in building modern armies and developing their capabilities….” Mister the Major General also added:” … experiences, ancient and contemporary have proven that superiority in battlefields is no longer based on materiel power, but rather on mastery of knowledge, technology and the tools of era. Nodaway, the modern armies rely increasingly on sophisticated systems, and building a strong and cohesive army can only be achieved by combining strict military discipline and solidly established knowledge; because the knowledge is the inexhaustible weapon and the true guarantee for continued nations progress…”.. Then, Mister the Major General proceeded to unveil the wall fresco marking the commissioning of the museum, officially announcing its start activity. ![]() On this same occasion, all the museum spaces were inspected, namely (the exhibition of historical photographs retracing the different activities of the Republican Guard Command, a presentation of uniforms as well as portraits of the commanders who has succeeded, in addition to the pavilion of musical instruments and equestrian equipment). Furthermore, the first edition of the book fair was organized, gathering a wide range of works covering various fields and languages. ![]() ![]() At the end of the activities, Mister the Major General held an orientation meeting with the chiefs of central structures and units, during which he gave a series of instructions and urging them to rigorously apply the combat preparation program and execute all exercises, particularly those of specialized nature. He also stressed the imperative of paying sustained attention to the human resources, considering it the fundamental cornerstone for achieving distinguished performance, and the importance of working with integrity and sincerity, combating negative phenomena and social scourges, as well as encouraging reading and the practice of sports. ![]() The activity concluded with the signing of the museum’s guestbook by Mister the Major General Commander of the Republican Guard. |
