Operational report of PNA from 21st to 27th April 2021
Within the framework of the noble missions of defence and security of the national territory against all forms of threats, detachments and units of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 21st to 27th April 2021, several operations which testify to the infallible commitment of our Armed Forces to preserve peace and security in our country:
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with the sustained efforts to thwart drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of PNA intercepted, in coordination with the various security services in several operations carried out through the Military Regions, (25) drug traffickers and seized huge quantities of treated kif amounting to (13) quintals and (55) kilograms, which criminal gangs attempted to introduce across the borders with Morocco.
As such, detachments of PNA and the services of the National Gendarmerie and the Border Guards arrested, during separate operations in the territories of the 2nd and 3rd Military Regions, (15) drug traffickers and seized (07) quintals and (47) kilograms of treated kif, while (02) drug traffickers were apprehended in possession of (06) quintals of the same substance in the territory of the 4th Military Region. Likewise, (08) other drug traffickers were intercepted and (08) kilograms of treated kif and (17770) psychotropic tablets were seized in numerous operations carried out in other Military Regions.
In addition, detachments of PNA arrested in Tamanrasset, In Guezzam, Bordj Badji Mokhtar and Djanet, (170) individuals and seized (25) vehicles, (147) generators, (52) jackhammers, detonation tools and other equipment used in illegal gold mining operations, as well as (459) bags of raw gold and stones mixture and (174) tonnes of foodstuffs intended for smuggling, while (09) individuals were arrested and (10) hunting rifles, (53.5) quintals of tobacco and (442) smart phones were seized during separate operations carried out in Béchar, Adrar, El-Oued, Sétif and Oum El Bouaghi. Likewise, border guards thwarted smuggle attempts of large quantities of fuel amounting to (19037) litres in Tébessa, El-Tarf, Souk Ahras and Bordj Badji Mokhtar
In another context, the Coast Guards thwarted illegal emigration attempts of (53) individuals on board artisanal boats in Oran, Aïn Témouchent, Annaba and El-Tarf, while (187) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were apprehended in Djanet, In Salah, Bordj Badji Mokhtar and Adrar.
