At the invitation of Brigadier General Oumar DIARRA, Chief of the General Staff of the Malian Armies, Chairman in office of the Council of Chiefs of Staff of the member countries of the Joint Operational General Staff Committee "CEMOC", a meeting of the said Council was held yesterday 09th February 2021 in Bamko/Mali and attended by a delegation of the General Staff of People's National Army led by the Major General KAIDI Mohamed, Chief of the Employment-Preparation Department of People's National Army General Staff, as a representative of the Lieutenant General of the Army CHANEGRIHA Saïd, Chief of Staff of the National People's Army.

This meeting was organized by the Chiefs of Staff of Mali, Algeria, Mauritania and Niger to study and to assess the security situation in the region, the analyzes exchanging and the experiences feedback from the last meeting of the Council of Chiefs of Staff, held on 30th September 2019 in Tamanrasset. Furthermore, it was an opportunity to enrich and to improve the CEMOC functioning and to pass the rotating presidency of the Council of Chiefs of Staff to Mauritania.
In his intervention, the Major General KAIDI Mohamed insisted on the interest that People's National Army High Command allowed to preserve this framework of cooperation, the Joint Operational Staff Committee, within which the Chiefs of General staffs of the Armies of the member countries, freely exchange the analyzes and the points of view on the region security issues.
He also stressed on the necessity to combine efforts in a transparent and sincere cooperation between the countries, based essentially on the information exchange and actions coordination, on both sides, of the borders, counting, mainly on our own strength and means.
