Operational report of PNA from 30th December 2020 to 5th January 2021
Within the dynamic of the continuous efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 30th December 2020 to 5th January 2021, multiple operations crowed with qualitative results which reflect the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, and in addition to the search operation carried out by People's National Army in Messelmoune, wilaya of Tipaza which has already been communicated, and which resulted in the elimination of six (06) terrorists, and the recovery of (06) firearms and a quantity of ammunition, a PNA detachment arrested (02) elements of support for terrorist groups in Ain Defla, while (02) machine guns type Kalashnikov and two (02) ammunition magazines were discovered in In-Amenas, while (03) homemade bombs were discovered and destroyed in Boumerdes.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with the intense efforts to thwart the phenomenon of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of PNA arrested, in coordination with the various security services, (28) drug traffickers and seized, during separate operations, large quantities of treated kif amounting to (16) quintals and (20) kilograms, having been introduced via the borders with Morocco.
As such, combined detachments of PNA arrested during separate operations (03) drug traffickers and seized (844.194) kilograms of treated kif in Naama, while (02) other drug traffickers were apprehended in Bechar where others quantities of the same substance amounting to (605) kilograms were seized. In the same wake, detachments of PNA and the National Gendarmerie services and the Border Guards apprehended (23) drug traffickers and seized (170.800) kilograms of treated kif, (127) grams of cocaine and (3,070) psychotropic tablets, during various operations carried out in Ain Temouchent, Tlemcen, Oran, Ghardaia, Ouargla, Tebessa and Bordj Bou Arreridj.
On the other hand, detachments of PNA intercepted, in Tamanrasset, In Guezzam, Bordj Badji Mokhtar and Illizi (77) individuals and seized (12) vehicles, (159) generators, (77) jackhammers, tools detonation and other equipment used in illegal gold mining operations, as well as (38.3) tonnes of foodstuffs intended for smuggling, while (03) other individuals were arrested, and (09) hunting rifles, (02) automatic pistols, (45,890) cartridges for shotguns, (48.2) tons of copper, (29,250) packets of tobacco, (4,868) units of various drinks and (384) cell phones were seized during separate operations carried out in Biskra, Mostaganem, Tlemcen, Jijel, El-Oued, El-Tarf, Oum El-Bouaghi, Ouargla and Tindouf. Likewise, smuggle attempts of large quantities of fuel amounting to (8,942) litres were foiled in Tebessa, Souk Ahras, El-Tarf and Bordj Badji Mokhtar.
In another context, (40) illegal immigrants from different nationalities including (17) Moroccans were intercepted in Tlemcen, Tamanrasset, Ouargla, Naama, Sidi-Bel-Abbes, Tebessa and Bejaia.
