Within the dynamics of the efforts aiming to establish the security and serenity through the national territory, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 24th February to 2nd March 2021, numerous operations that the results denote the high professionalism and unwavering commitment of our Armed Forces to preserve and to protect our country against all forms of security threats and related scourges:

      Within the framework of the fight against terrorism and thanks to the exploitation of security intelligence, a detachment of People's National Army apprehended the terrorist named "Okbaoui Abdi" alias "Abdi Ould Barka", in Bordj Badji Mokhtar in the 6th Military Region. The said terrorist had joined, in 2016, one of the terrorist organizations activating in the Sahel.


      In the same wake and further to a search operation carried out along the border strip of Bordj Badji Mokhtar, another detachment of PNA discovered a cache of arms and ammunition containing (02) submachine guns type Kalashnikov, (03) ammunition loaders, (03) RPG-2 anti-tank rockets, (03) RPG-2 anti-personnel rockets, (01) FLG anti-personnel grenade, as well as (136) bullets, while another set of (2485) bullets of different calibre was also seized in In Aménas.


      Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and as a continuation of the intense efforts to eradicate the trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of PNA intercepted, in coordination with the security services in different operations executed through the various Military Regions, (49) drug traffickers and seized large quantities of treated kif amounting to (12) quintals and (14) kilograms, that the criminal gangs attempted to introduce across the borders with Morocco .


      As such, detachments of PNA and the services of National Gendarmerie and Border Guards arrested, during separate operations carried in the 2nd and 3rd Military Regions territories, (15) drug traffickers and seized (11) quintals and (47) kilograms of treated kif, while (34) drug traffickers were apprehended and (67) kilograms of the same substance were seized, as well as (113092) psychotropic tablets and (150) grams of cocaine were seized in various operations carried out in other Military Regions.


      In addition, detachments of PNA intercepted, in Tamanrasset, In Guezzam and Bordj Badji Mokhtar, (63) individuals and seized (06) vehicles, (69) generators, (46) jackhammers, (03) metal detectors, detonation tools and other equipment used in illicit gold mining operations, while (13) other individuals were arrested, and (06) hunting rifles, (01) automatic pistol, (9780) units of tobacco, (5177) units of different beverages and (977) smart phones were seized during separate operations carried out in Tindouf, Biskra, Ghardaïa, Bejaïa, Oum El Bouaghi, Nâama and Saïda. Likewise, smuggle attempts of large quantities of fuel amounting to (12372) litres were foiled in Tébessa, El-Tarf, Souk Ahras, Tindouf and Djanet.
