Within the dynamics of the efforts aiming to establish security and serenity throughout the national territory, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 3rd to 9th March 2021, several operations, that the results denote the high professionalism and unwavering commitment of our Armed Forces to preserve and to protect our country against all forms of security threats and related scourges:

      Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, detachments of People's National Army arrested (02) elements of support for terrorist groups in Jijel and Bejaia, while (02) casemates for terrorists and (03) homemade bombs were discovered and destroyed in Tzi-Ouzou, M'sila and Skikda.

      Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and as a continuation of the intense efforts to eradicate the drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of PNA intercepted, in coordination with the different security services in numerous operations carried out through the various Military Regions, (34) drug traffickers and seized large quantities of treated kif amounting to (15) quintals and (87) kilograms, that the criminal gangs attempted to introduce across our borders with Morocco.

      As such, detachments of PNA and National Gendarmerie services and Border Guards arrested, during separate operations in the territories of the 2nd and 3rd Military Regions, (23) drug traffickers and seized (15) quintals and (44) kilograms of treated kif, while (11) drug traffickers were apprehended and (43) kilograms of the same substance, as well as (17.714) psychotropic tablets were seized in various operations carried out in other Military Regions.



      In addition, detachments of PNA intercepted, in Tamanrasset, In Guezzam, Bordj Badji Mokhtar and Djanet, (334) individuals and seized (12) vehicles, (370) generators, (176) jackhammers, detonation tools and other equipment used in illicit gold mining operations, as well as (260) bags of raw gold and stones mixture, while (09) other individuals were arrested, (03) hunting rifles, (02) automatic pistols, (45.900) units of tobacco and (7200) units of pyrotechnic articles were seized during separate operations carried out in Ouargla, El-Oued, Biskra, Setif, Mila and Adrar. Likewise, smuggle attempts of large quantities of fuel amounting to (18.050) litres were thwarted in Tebessa, El-Tarf, Souk Ahras, Bordj Badji Mokhtar and Djanet.


      In another context, Coast Guards thwarted illegal emigration attempts of (39) individuals, aboard artisanal boat in Annaba and El-Tarf, while (123) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested in Djanet, Tlemcen, Tamanrasset, Tebessa, Naama and Relizane.
