A Series of videoconferences from the 25th session of the NATO Regional Cooperation Course - NATO Defence College

      Within the framework of the cooperation in the academic field between Algeria and the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, the Ministry of National Defence organised, on March 17th, 2021, at the headquarters of the Ministry, a series of videoconferences for the benefit of the auditors of the 25th session of the NATO Regional Cooperation Course from the NATO Defence College, located in Rome, Italy.

      This session, marked by the participation of senior officials from the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health, Population and Hospital Reform, was opened by a speech by Major General Kaïdi Mohamed, Head of the Employment-Preparation Department of the General Staff of the People’s National Army, through which he reviewed the Algerian experience in the fight against terrorism and organised crime and the security situation prevailing in the Sahel, in particular the Western Sahara issue and its repercussions on the security and stability of the Region. Two presentations were then given by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health, Population and Hospital Reform, dealing respectively with Algeria's role in regional stability and Algeria-NATO cooperation, as well as the Covid-19 pandemic crisis management.

  

      It should be noted that the organisation of this activity enabled Algeria to present its experiences in crisis management and its role in the region, as well as confirming its unchanging positions on certain regional issues.
