Operational report of PNA from 20th to 26th October 2021
Within the framework of the noble missions of defence and security of the national territory against all forms of threats, detachments and units of People's National Army carried out, from 20th to 26th October 2021, numerous operations which testify the infallible commitment of our Armed Forces to preserve peace and security in our country:
In the field of the fight against terrorism, combined detachments of People's National Army apprehended (04) elements of support for terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory, while (04) homemade bombs were discovered and destroyed in Bouira and Medea.
In the context of operations to fight organized crime and within the dynamics of the intense efforts to thwart drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People's National Army foiled, in coordination with the various security services at the level of the 2nd and 3rd Military Regions, attempts to introduce quantities of drugs via the borders with Morocco, amounting to (625) kilograms of treated kif, while (21) drug traffickers were arrested in their possession (42,968) psychotropic tablets seized in various operations carried out across other Military Regions.
In addition, detachments of People's National Army intercepted, in Tamanrasset, In Guezzam, Bordj Badji Mokhtar and Djanet, (161) individuals and seized (09) vehicles, (228) generators, (101) jackhammers, (07) metal detectors, quantities of explosives, detonation tools and other equipment used in illegal gold mining operations, as well as (35) quintals of foodstuffs intended for smuggling, while (13) others individuals were arrested, (12) hunting rifles and (4,543) cartridges, (60.5) quintals of tobacco and (2,225) units of different drinks were seized in Khenchla, Setif, Batna, El-Oued and Biskra. Likewise, smuggle attempts of quantities of fuel amounting to (9,546) litres were foiled in Tebessa, El-Tarf and Souk Ahras.
In another context, Coast Guards thwarted, at the level of our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and proceeded to the rescue of (65) individuals aboard artisanal boats, while (98) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested in Tlemcen, In Guezzam, In Amenas and Ghardaia.
