As part of the ongoing high-quality operations conducted by units of People's National Army, particularly in the fight against smuggling, transnational organized crime, and the trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances, and following the optimal use of intelligence, the security services of People's National Army in the 2nd Military Region dismantled a dangerous criminal network operating in the western region of the country between December 16th and 22nd , 2025. The network consisted of nine smugglers, and the following were seized:

• 13,951,500 Algerian dinars (DA) in proceeds of criminal activities;
• Five (5) passenger vehicles;
• Two (2) semi-trailer trucks;
• 517,400 ecstasy tablets.
• A quantity of mobile phones.

      This successful operation confirms, once again, the level of vigilance and preparedness of the People's National Army units across its various branches to thwart and foil this type of criminal activity and combat the proliferation of the scourge of drugs within society.
