Major General Mohammed Al-Bachir SOUID, Central Director of Military Health Services at the Ministry of National Defence, presided over the opening ceremony of the ninth Medical-Surgical Conference, entitled
"Knee Pathology: A Multidisciplinary Approach", and the first Paramedical Conference, entitled
"Paramedical Professionals Facing Musculoskeletal Pathologies: An Integrative Approach" , organized by the University Military Hospital, specializing in orthopaedic surgery, functional rehabilitation, and prosthetics of Bouchaoui, in the First Military Region, on Saturday, 29th November 2025, at the Army’s National Circle in Beni Messous. The ceremony was attended by General Officers, directors of health units, and specialist physicians, civilians and military personnel, belonging to various hospital establishments.

In his opening address, the Major General, Director of Military Health Services, emphasized that this scientific meeting provides a valuable forum for exchanging experiences and knowledge in the fields of orthopaedic surgery, functional rehabilitation, and prosthetics. He also highlighted the essential role of paramedical teams in the success of the missions assigned to military health services. Furthermore, he added that this scientific event reflects the strong commitment of the High Command of the People's National Army to developing the military health system and strengthening the role of scientific research and innovation in serving our People's National Army.

For his part, the General Director of the Specialized University Military Hospital emphasized, in his opening address, the importance of the theme of these medical, surgical, and paramedical conferences, which allowed for the highlighting and discussion of topics and issues related to musculoskeletal diseases, and for demonstrating improved integrated care. Along the same lines, the hospital's General Director discussed the hospital's future prospects, which include the development of spinal surgery, outpatient surgery, and stem cell transplantation.
These medical days aim to offer an opportunity for the exchange of experiences and to strengthen scientific cooperation between the different national skills, as well as to enrich knowledge related to surgery and the different medical specialties linked to diseases of the musculoskeletal system, and are part of the efforts of People's National Army High Command to guarantee the best medical care for personnel of People’s National Army.
