Operational Report of PNA from 01st to the 07th January 2026
Within the framework of efforts to fight terrorism and multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People’s National Army conducted several operations between January 1st and 7th, 2026. These operations yielded significant results, reflecting the high level of professionalism, vigilance, and constant readiness of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory.
As part of the fight against terrorism, detachments of People’s National Army arrested seven individuals providing support to terrorist groups in various operations across the country.
As part of the fight against organized crime and continuing efforts to combat the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of People’s National Army, in coordination with various security services, intercepted 28 drug traffickers during operations carried out across the Military Regions and thwarted attempts to smuggle 387 kilograms of treated kif from the borders with Morocco, while 4.4 kilograms of cocaine and 155,943 psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, and Illizi, detachments of People's National Army arrested 208 individuals and seized 30 vehicles, 312 generators, 192 jackhammers, as well as quantities of raw gold and stones, and equipment used in illegal gold mining operations. In separate operations, 14 other individuals were apprehended, and one automatic pistol, one hunting rifle, 29,527 liters of fuel, 7 quintals of tobacco, and 8 tons of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation were seized.
Furthermore, 311 undocumented immigrants of various nationalities were arrested throughout the country.
