Operational Report of PNA from 14th to the 20th January 2026
Within the framework of the sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army conducted several operations between 14th and 20th January 2026. These operations yielded significant results, reflecting the high level of professionalism, vigilance, and constant readiness of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, detachments of People's National Army arrested ten (10) elements of support for terrorist groups in various operations across the country.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and continuing efforts to combat drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People's National Army, in coordination with various security services, intercepted 46 drug traffickers during operations carried out across the Military Regions and thwarted smuggle attempts of 765 kilograms of treated kif from the borders with Morocco, while 282,909 psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Salah, In Guezzam, and Illizi, detachments of People's National Army arrested 254 individuals and seized 25 vehicles, 310 generators, 217 jackhammers, 39 metal detectors, as well as quantities of raw gold and stones, and equipment used in illegal gold mining operations. In separate operations, 13 other individuals were apprehended, and one Kalashnikov-type submachine gun, two hunting rifles, 8,580 litres of fuel, 17 quintals of tobacco, and 62 tons of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation were seized.
Furthermore, the Coast Guard thwarted illegal emigration attempts on the national coasts and rescued (180) individuals on board artisanal construction boats, while (527) illegal immigrants from various nationalities were arrested throughout the national territory.
