«The deceased President Houari Boumediene»
Mr. President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Minister of National Defence, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, chaired on July 01st, 2024, the ceremony of classes release at the Cherchell Military Academy «the deceased President Houari Boumediene», which was named after the late Moudjahid «Colonel Youcef El-Khatib».
Mr. President of the Republic, Minister of National Defence, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, was received by Mr. General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, the Chief of Staff of People's National Army.
After the welcoming ceremony, Mr. President has seen a silent contemplation on the soul of «the deceased President Houari Boumediene» whose name is carried by the Academy, where he laid a wreath of flowers before the stele commemorating his memory and recited the Fatiha on his soul and those of our brave Chouhada.
Thereafter, Mr. the President went to the honorary hall, to attend a detailed presentation on the training course at the Academy, the activities made throughout this educational year, and the graduating classes which are:
- The eighth (08) class of officers master's cycle;
- The fifty-fifth (55) class of basic training;
- The seventeenth (17) class of basic joint military training.
The ceremony of graduating classes started by a speech of General, Chief of Staff of the People's National Army, then a speech of the Major General, Military Academy Commander, and afterwards came the oath of the graduating classes. Mr. President of the Republic carried out the handing-over of the ranks and diplomas to the first of the classes, as well to the first of the class of the Master cycle, then gave the rank of second lieutenant and the sword of the Academy to the first of the class of the Fundamental Formation, then allowing to the General Chief of Staff of People's National Army, the General the Republican Guard Commander, the Major-General Land Forces Commander, the Major General the 1st Military Region Commander and the Major General the Cherchell Military Academy Commander to give diplomas and ranks to the other laureates, after that the President of the Republic gave the diploma to the first of the class of basic Common Military Formation.
The ceremony continued with the making of the banner of the Academy between graduating class officer of career and the rising one. Mr. President of the Republic gave his assent to call the graduating class in the name of the late Moudjahid; «Colonel Youcef El-Khatib», the first of the class presented a biographical outline about him.

Thereafter, military exhibitions were carried out, similar to sportive exhibition of kouksoul, Karate, Kung fu as well as collective movements, bodybuilding and truck jumping and fire obstacle exercises, as well as a demonstrative combat exercice relating to an ambush and assault section executed by a combined detachment.
The graduation ceremony saw the participation of the Air Forces through the execution of aerial figures performed by different squadrons of combat aircrafts and the execution of a refuelling exercise of fighter aircraft in flight. Thereafter, the military formations of the Academy were reviewed while ravelling in front of the grandstand greeting the President of the Republic.
Thereafter, Mr. President of the Republic followed the live broadcast on big screen of a conclusive exercise carried out by the Naval Forces, entitled «Demonstrative tactical exercise simulating an intervention and inspection operation of a ship suspect sailing along the national coastline». He has also followed an exhibition of jump of parachutes carried out by the special troops.
In addition, the President of the Republic followed at the educational complex "Didouche Mourad" the activities of the scientific exhibition organized by Student Officers of the graduated promotions.
At the end, the President of the Republic, Minister of National Defence, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, honored the family of the late Moudjahid «Colonel Youcef El-Khatib», before signing the Guest Book of the Academy.
