General Major SMAALI Mostefa, Commander of the Land Forces, paid a working and inspection visit to the Land Forces units of the 1st Military Region from December 15 to 18, 2024, where he enquired about operational readiness, the level of combat readiness, training and instruction. He also gave instructions and guidelines for the continued promotion of the Land Forces' capabilities to achieve the objectives set.
The visit began at the headquarters of the 1st Military Region Command, where he was welcomed by the Region Commander, General Major, and briefed on the Region's security situation and operational readiness. The General-Major, Commander of the Land Forces, then held a meeting with the Region's executives and the Commanders of the Military Sectors.
The General-Major, Commander of the Land Forces, then visited the Central Logistics Base, where he inspected the various workshops and enquired about the efforts made to renew, modernize, develop and maintain the tactical and combative equipment of the ANP in general, and the Land Forces in particular.
The General-Major, Commander of the Land Forces, then visited the 116th Operational Maneuvers Regiment, where he received a briefing and enquired about the regiment's operational readiness to carry out the various sensitive missions assigned to it, notably in the fight against terrorism, smuggling and all forms of cross-border organized crime.
On the second day of the visit, the General-Major, Commander of the Land Forces, visited the 135th Long-Range Artillery Regiment in M'sila, where he enquired about operational readiness, the morale of personnel and the condition of weapons and equipment.
The General-Major, Commander of the Land Forces, then visited the Field Artillery Training Center in Boussaâda, where he enquired about the level of training, capacity and condition of infrastructure, before continuing his visit to the Field Artillery Training School in Boussaâda, where he received a presentation on the latter and its role in the training of artillery officers.
On the third day, the Major General visited the 12th DIM command post in Djelfa, where he was welcomed by the Division Commander. Mr. Major General, Commander of the Land Forces, was given a briefing on the readiness of this major combat unit. Mr. Major General, Commander of the Land Forces, then held an orientation meeting with the Division's senior staff, where he praised the high level of combativeness achieved by the Division's organic units and combat formations.
The General-Major, Commander of the Land Forces, then paid a visit to the command post of the 11th Mixed Brigade in Djelfa, where he was welcomed by the Brigade Commander General, who gave a presentation on the brigade's missions and its various formations, as well as its operational readiness.
On the last day of the visit, the General-Major, Commander of the Land Forces, visited the Commandos and Parachuting initiation training School in Boghar, where he received a briefing on the school and its role in instruction and training for Commandos and parachute jumping missions. He then inspected the material base and teaching resources used in training and instruction. Following this, the General-Major, Commander of the Land Forces, inspected the 104th Operational Maneuvers Regiment in Boghar, and received a briefing on the sensitive missions assigned to it, notably in the fight against terrorism, smuggling and all forms of organized crime. He also enquired about the regiment's operational readiness.
