the Instruction Centre of Engineers was created on July 31st, 1978. Established temporarily in Boudouaou (Boumerdes), the Centre had the role of instruction of the troops men intended to operate in the units of engineers of combat and to ensure the improvement of the special troops as well as the elements of the national service.

October 15th, 1984, it was transferred to the town of Zemouri (County of Boumerdes).

August 31st, 1995, it was transferred again from Zemouri towards the town of Bejaia, to be established on the old quartering of the Branch School of Engineers after the transfer of the latter to its new site.

The Instruction Centre of Engineers provides the training for the contractual and contingent ranks men, according to the training programs in force.

It provides the following specialised trainings:

• Head of group of bomb disposal experts;
• Head of group of camouflage;
• Driver of the combat truck of engineers;
• Heavy plant driver of organisation of the ground;
• Operator of preparation of the chemical solutions;
• Operator of cleaning up;
• Operator on truck of filtering of water.

To carry out its missions and under better conditions, the Instruction Centre of Engineers is equipped with the following structures:

Command of the Centre;

Direction of the training;

Command and Services Grouping.

Within the framework of the preparation of the troops for the execution of their missions, the Centre is equipped with a modern base of training and equipped with various teaching means, as well as all necessary human resources to ensure the training of the men of the troops and executives ready to achieve their tasks in all the situations.

Session of the Professional Military Patent 1st degree (ranked contractual)

• Speciality: Head of group of bomb disposal experts, driver of the machines, organisation of the ground or heavy plant driver of engineers of combat;
• Duration: 06 months;
• A number of sessions: 02;
• Objective of the training: To prepare the new ranked cadets to become heads of groups, ready to order a group of engineers to carry out the missions or to exploit the machines and the equipment of engineers.

Session of the Professional Military Patent 1st degree (ranked contingent)

• Speciality: Head of bomb disposal experts group;
• Duration: 06 months;
• A number of sessions: 02;
• Objective of the training: To prepare the new cadets of the contingent to become heads of groups, ready to order a group of bomb disposal experts to achieve the various missions.

Basic training course (contractual Djounouds)

• Speciality: bomb disposal expert;
• Duration: 05 months;
• A number of sessions: 02;
• Objective of the training: To offer to the new recruits the necessary knowledge to allow them to achieve their missions in the units of engineers and to exploit the various means and equipment of engineers.

Basic training course (Djounouds of the contingent)

• Speciality: bomb disposal expert;
• Duration: 05 months;
• A number of sessions: 02;
• Objective of the training: To offer to the new recruits the necessary knowledge to allow them to achieve their missions in the units of engineers and to exploit the various means and equipment of engineers.

The Centre is equipped with a convenient and modern teaching base, continuously up dated and developed to satisfy the requirements of the new methods of training:

• Room of specialised course, equipped with several diagrams and models with instruction for the material and the infrastructure of engineers as with the posters to clear up the contents of the various training schemes;
• Park containing the majority of the types of material and the typical means of engineers;
• Computing room;
• Room of teaching equipped with the information processing system;
• Room of conferences.

The Centre has a whole of infrastructure equipped to lodge the executives and the trainees.

Concerning catering, the Centre has a mixed mess of the officers and a complex of catering containing a modern kitchen and rooms of catering for each category of trainees.

The Centre has a conference room, equipped with a unit with audio-visual means. We also find there a modern library rich in books.

The Centre is also equipped with hostels and leisure rooms.
