The history of Algerian artillery goes back to the XIV century, passing by artillery of the ZIANIDE era and the changes which the artillery of the capital Algiers knew and then the artillery of the Emir Abdelkader to that of Constantine, leading to artillery used by the National Army of Liberation during the revolution.
PRESENTATION DE L'ECOLE
After independence and more exactly in 1964, it was created the National School of Artillery at TELERGHMA, and then transferred during the year 1970 towards BATNA to become the National School of the Combat Arms, transferred thereafter in 1982 towards LAGHOUAT with the COUNTER-AIRCRAFT DEFENCE forming a school for the two arms.
April 06, 1991, it was transferred from LAGHOUAT towards BOUSSAADA forming the current school called the Branch School of Field Artillery.
E.A.A.C. is located at 245 km in the south of the Algiers capital.
TRAINING CYCLES IN THE SCHOOL
TRAINING CYCLE TYPE
The school offers a theoretical training and practical for all the categories of allowed training cadets at the school.
This training is based on three axes :
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
ACTIVE AND CONTRACTUAL CADETS
Each year the school receives :
Two promotions of officers' cadets of the units of combat to follow an advanced training course;
A promotion of officers cadets of the active, having finished their training course in common core in the Military Academy of Combined Arms / Cherchelll;
A promotion of active non commissioned officers cadets arrived from various units of combat, for a training course of Professional Military Patent 2nd degree;
Two promotions of active non commissioned officers cadets arrived from various units of combat, for a training course of Professional Military Patent 1st degree;
A promotion of contractual non commissioned officers cadets having finished their training course in common core in the schools of active non commissioned officers to follow a training course of Professional Military Certificate 2nd degree.
CONTINGENTS
Each year the school receives:
Two promotions of officer cadets of contingent's titular of higher diplomas;
Two promotions of non-commissioned officers of secondary and university levels.

The school has a complex made up of a modern kitchen as well as a unit of messes for the executives and the various categories of trainees.
