The People's National Army high command attaches particular importance to the Reconnaissance Branch so as to develop it and upgrade its capabilities by modernizing its components, as reflected in the creation of the Branch School of Reconnaissance Arm in Chlef in the First Military Region, to form officers and non-commissioned officers by teaching them military and scientific knowledge, train them on skills that enable them to work at the battle combat units efficiently and ably.

The Branch School of Reconnaissance Arm was established in 2020, it is subordinate to the Land Forces Command.

Since its creation, the school carry out the training of the Reconnaissance Branch personnel; officers and non-commissioned officers, through the following sessions:

• Advanced course;
• Branch Course;
• Professional Military Patent 2^nd degree;
• Professional Military Patent 1^st degree;
• Professional Military Certificate 2^nd degree;

The school has an important pedagogical base that enables educational attainment and assimilation of theorectical and applied lessons along the lines of:

• Classrooms and specialized classrooms;
• Conference room;
• The reconnaissance and foreigners armies room;
• Survival room;
• Engineering room;
• Quick rope drop platform;
• Parachute ground training platform;
• Combat obstacle course;
• Exercises Field;
• Gym-Room.
