General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of PNA inaugurates the ammunition demilitarization unit in the 1st Military Region

      The General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of People's National Army, carried out, this Saturday 06th August 2022, a working and inspection visit to the Ministerial Establishment of the General Reserve of Ammunition in the 1st Military Region, where he inaugurated the ammunition demilitarization unit in Djelfa.

  

      This visit is part of the expansion of the production lines of People's National Army, particularly in the field of recovery and recycling of materials that other military industrial companies need to use, and development ammunition demilitarization processes, thereby preserving the environment, reducing foreign exchange costs and reducing foreign raw materials dependence.

  

      After the welcoming ceremony, the General, accompanied by the Commander of the 1st Military Region, the Central Director of Equipment and the Central Directors of the Ministry of National Defence and People’s National Army General Staff, held a meeting with the executives and the staff of the Ministerial Establishment of the General Reserve of Ammunition and the ammunition demilitarization unit, where he delivered an orientation speech at the beginning of which he underlined that ammunition constitutes a new pillar of the ambitious and promising industrial fabric of People's National Army, in accordance with the prospective vision of the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence:

  

      “At the beginning, I would like to express my great joy at being today at the Ministerial Establishment of the General Ammunition Reserve, to proceed, on this occasion, to the inauguration of a new unit which has just add to all the production establishments of People's National Army, in this case the ammunition demilitarization unit which will undoubtedly constitute a new pillar of our ambitious and promising industrial fabric.

      In this wake and in the light of the prospective vision of the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, aiming to make 2022 a year of a prime economic recovery, we have worked to materialize this strategic approach through the implementation of the expected complementarities between the various production units of the People's National Army,by creating new branches of production which contribute to the industrial effort of People's National Army, and able to guarantee the self-supply of raw materials for our other establishments, in particular those resulting from recycling and recovery, with a view to optimizing the production capacities of the military institution and rationalizing expenses.”

      The General affirmed that the major steps taken by People's National Army are the fruit of a well-thought-out strategy that the High Command has worked, carefully, to concretize, in order to bring together all the necessary conditions thus to allow hoisting tactical, operational and even productive capabilities of our Army:

  

      “The major steps taken by People's National Army, a worthy heir to the National Liberation Army, are the result of a thoughtful strategy that the High Command has worked carefully to put into practice, in order to bring together all the necessary conditions to raise the tactical, operational and even productive capacities of our army, to strengthen the factors of its force and its ready state, to establish the base of power among its ranks and to bring together all the conditions allowing it to perform perfectly assigned missions, objectives whose achievement inevitably requires the combined efforts of all.”

      Before that, the General had followed a presentation given by the Commander of this new unit, relating to its organization chart and its missions, before carrying out the inspection of the various production lines, following the example of the ammunition disassembly workshop, the control room, the propellant charge melting and flaking workshop, the explosive bread manufacturing workshop, the explosive gel workshop, as well as the thermal destruction furnace, and the waste mineralization. In situ, the Lieutenant General followed with interest the exhaustive explanations given by the executives and managers of these workshops on the stages of demilitarization, recovery and recycling of the different types of ammunition, as well as the equipment and tools used for this purpose.

  

  

      The General took this opportunity to urge the managers, executives and employees of this unit to redouble their efforts to raise the assigned missions to the expected levels, and to ensure the preservation of this important achievement.
