Operational report PNA from 27th July to 02nd August 2022
Within the dynamics of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 27th July to 02nd August 2022, several operations which led to high quality results which reflect professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in the continuity with the intense efforts aiming to counter the drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People's National Army have arrested, in coordination with the various security services in the 2nd and the 3rd Military Regions, (15) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce quantities of drugs across the borders with Morocco, amounting to (129) kilograms of treated kif, while (27) others drug traffickers were arrested in their possession (72,448) psychotropic tablets during various operations carried out through the Military Regions.
In addition, detachments of People's National Army intercepted, in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam, Djanet and Tindouf, (28) individuals and seized one (01) FMPK machine gun, one (01) submachine gun type Kalashnikov, a quantity of ammunition, (17) vehicles, (103) generators, (74) jackhammers, (30) tons of raw gold and stones mixture, (01) metal detector and detonation tools and equipment used in illegal gold panning operations, while (08) other individuals were apprehended and (06) hunting rifles, (34,900) packets of tobacco, as well as quantities of foodstuffs intended for smuggling amounting to (23) tons were seized in Tebessa, Setif, El-Oued, Tiaret, In Guezzam and M'sila. In the same context, Border Guards thwarted, in coordination with the services of the National Gendarmerie, smuggle attempts of large quantities of fuel amounting to (34,308) litres in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Tebessa, El-Tarf, Souk Ahras and El-Oued.
In addition, Coast Guards thwarted, in our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and proceeded to the rescue of (147) individuals on board homemade boats, while (39) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
