Operational report of PNA from 03rd to 09th August 2022
Within the dynamics of the sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 03rd to 09th August 2022, numerous operations which led to high quality results which reflect professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, detachments of People's National Army arrested (05) elements of support for terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory, while another combined detachment discovered and destroyed a casemates containing six (06) homemade bombs during a raking and search operation in Skikda.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in the continuity with the intense efforts aiming to counter the drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People's National Army arrested, in coordination with the various security services at the level of territories of the 2nd and 3rd Military Regions, (08) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce quantities of drugs across the borders with Morocco, amounting to (212) kilograms of treated kif, while (07) others drug traffickers were arrested in possession of (49,286) psychotropic tablets during numerous operations carried out across the Military Regions.
In addition, detachments of People's National Army intercepted, in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam and Djanet, (180) individuals and seized (18) vehicles, (332) generators, (250) jackhammers, (13) tons of raw gold and stones mixture, as well as detonation tools and equipment used in illegal gold panning operations, while (14) other individuals were apprehended and (05) hunting rifles, (01) automatic pistol, (80,519) packets of tobacco, (3,367) units of various drinks, as well as quantities of foodstuffs intended for smuggling amounting to (105) tons were seized in Ouargla, El-Oued, Biskra , Setif, Batna and In Guezzam. In the same context, the Border Guards thwarted, in coordination with the services of the National Gendarmerie, smuggle attempts of large quantities of fuel amounting to (70,866) litres in Tamanrasset, Tébessa, El-Tarf and Souk Ahras.
In addition, the Coast Guards thwarted, at the level of our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and carried out the rescue of (60) individuals aboard craft-built boats, while (268) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
