Operational report of the ANP from 10th to 16th Augest, 2022
Within the dynamics of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of the People's National Army carried out, from 10th August to 16th august 2022, several operations which led to quality results, which reflect the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, detachments of the People's National Army arrested (04) support elements for terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with the intense efforts aimed at countering the drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of the People's National Army have arrested, in coordination with the various security services at the 2nd and 3rd Military Regions, (03) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce quantities of drugs across the borders with Morocco, amounting to (394) kilograms of treated kif.
Otherwise, detachments of the People's National Army intercepted, in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam and Djanet, (248) individuals and seized (20) vehicles, (333) generators, (146) jackhammers, ( 05) metal detectors,(4.3) tons of mixture of raw gold and stones, as well as detonating tools and equipment used in illicit gold panning operations, while (11) other individuals were apprehended and (05) hunting rifles, (02) automatic pistols, (22) quintals of tobacco, as well as quantities of foodstuffs intended for smuggling amounting to (17) tons were seized in Ouargla, El-Oued, Batna, In Guezzam, Bejaïa, Constantine and Biskra. In the same context, the Border Guards thwarted, in coordination with the services of the National Gendarmerie, attempts to smuggle large quantities of fuel amounting to (37289) liters in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Tebessa, El- Tarf and Souk Ahras.
In addition, Coast Guards thwarted, in our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and carried out the rescue of (187) individuals aboard craft-built boats, while (117) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
