Operational report of PNA from 17th to 23rd August, 2022
Within the dynamics of sustained efforts in fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 17th to 23rd August 2022, numerous operations which led to quality results which reflect the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of fight against organized crime and in continuity with the intense efforts aiming to counter the drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People’s National Army arrested, in coordination with various security services in the 2nd and 3rd Military Regions, (08) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce quantities of drugs across the borders with Morocco, amounting to (167) kilograms of treated kif and seized one (01) FMPK machine gun and (661) bullets, while (23) other drug traffickers were arrested in their possession (56,594) psychotropic tablets during various operations carried out through the Military Regions.
In addition, detachments of People’s National Army intercepted, in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Ain Guezzam, Djanet and Tindouf, (183) persons and seized (21) vehicles, (223) generators, (125) jackhammers, (02) metal detectors, (03) tons of raw gold and stones mixture, as well as detonation tools and equipment used in illegal gold panning operations, while (11) other individuals were apprehended and (04) hunting rifles, (01) automatic pistol, quantities of foodstuffs intended for smuggling amounting to (37.5) tons, (111,200) packets of tobacco and (1,320) units of various drinks were seized in Ain Guezzam, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Tindouf, Ouargla, Djelfa, Tizi Ouzou and Saida. In the same context, Border Guards thwarted in coordination with National Gendarmerie services, smuggle attempts of large quantities of fuel amounting to (31,395) litres in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Tebessa, El-Tarf, Souk Ahras and El-Oued.
Otherwise, Coast Guards thwarted, in our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and carried out the rescue of (20) persons on board craft-built boats, while (102) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
