Operational report of PNA from 24th to 30th August 2022
Within the dynamics of sustained efforts in fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 24th to 30th August 2022, numerous operations which led to quality results reflecting high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
As part of fight against terrorism, detachments of the PNA arrested (12) support elements for terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory.
Within the framework of fight against organized crime and in continuity with the intense efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of the People's National Army arrested, in coordination with various security services during various operations carried out across the Military Regions, (53) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce quantities of drugs across the borders with Morocco, amounting to (07) quintals and (69) kilograms of treated kif, while (237) grams of cocaine and (209,271) psychotropic tablets were also seized.
In addition, detachments of People’s National Army intercepted, in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam, Djanet and Tindouf, (359) individuals and seized (19) vehicles, (444) generators, (258) jackhammers, (08) metal detectors, (48.30) tons of mixture of raw gold and stones, as well as detonating tools and equipment used in illegal gold paining operations, while (08) other individuals were arrested and (04) hunting rifles, (01) automatic pistol, (7,938) cartridges, quantities of foodstuff intended for smuggling amounting to (08) tons, as well as (42.4) quintals of tobacco and (7,816) units of various beverages were seized in Ouargla, Biskra, El-Oued, Boumerdes, Djelfa, Setif, Batna and In Guezzam. In the same context, Border Guards, in coordination with National Gendarmerie services, prevented attempts to smuggle large quantities of fuel amounting to (35,065) litres in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Tebessa, El-Tarf and Souk Ahras.
On the other hand, Coast Guards thwarted, in our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and proceeded to the rescue of (136) individuals aboard craft-built boats, while (315) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
