Lieutenant General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of the PNA on a working and inspection visit to the 5th Military Region
Within the dynamics of the visits to the various Military Regions, the Lieutenant General, Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of the People's National Army made, this Monday, April 25th, 2022, a working and inspection visit to the headquarters of the 1st Armoured Division’s Command - 5th Military Region.
After the welcoming ceremony, presided over by Major General Noureddine HAMBLI, 5th Military Region’s Commander, the Lieutenant General held a meeting with its executives, and delivered an orientation speech, followed via videoconferencing, by all its units, through which he highlighted the fact that he valued the remarkable results obtained by our Armed Forces in the specific area of fight against terrorism:
"I will not miss the opportunity offered to me, to praise the remarkable results, constantly recorded by the People's National Army, within the framework of the fight against terrorism, in particular following the exceptional operations, carried out by our valiant soldiers, in the Military Sector of Skikda - 5th Military Region, which resulted in the elimination of a considerable number of terrorists and the arrest of others.
Indeed, those engaged in the operations were able, after tremendous efforts, and thanks to the determination, vigilance, courage and discipline they demonstrated, to locate, track down and corner this horde of misguided criminals and traitors, and to defeat their sinister designs aimed at undermining the security and tranquillity of our citizens”.
The Lieutenant General underlined the fact that the confessions of the arrested terrorists exposed the connivance of the terrorist organization "RACHAD" with the terrorist groups operating inside the country and outside it, just as they have proven the relevance of the approach adopted by the People's National Army’s High Command, related to the plague of terrorism and subversive organizations:
“The Algerian people followed, with great interest, the confessions of the arrested terrorists, who recognized their wrongs towards the country and the people. These confessions exposed the connivance of the terrorist organization RACHAD with the terrorist groups operating inside the country and outside it, just as they unmasked the underhanded plans and the visceral hatred, vowed by these subversives to our Algeria, and their willingness to make a pact with a foreign enemy, to achieve their macabre ends. Every Algerian must also be aware of this and join every brave soldier, to thwart these conspiracies.
On the other hand, these confessions proved the relevance of the approach, adopted by the People's National Army’s High Command, in accordance with the guidelines of the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, related to the plague of terrorism and subversive organizations. Moreover, they prove once more that the insurgence against our national community, the armed option and the use of violence, to achieve narrow political objectives, only serve the interests of the enemies of Algeria and will always be dedicated to failure”.
By the end of this meeting, the Lieutenant General gave a series of guidelines and instructions related, in short, to the enhancement of the results obtained by this Military Region’s staff and the imperative to redouble the level of alertness and vigilance, to face those new security challenges. Finally, he gave the floor to the executives and staff to express their concerns and points of view.
