Lieutenant General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of the People's National Army, on a working and inspection visit to the 6th Military Region
Within the dynamics of his visits to the various Military Regions, Lieutenant General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of the People's National Army made, this Saturday, 16th April 2022, a working and inspection visit to the Operational Sector of Bordj Badji Mokhtar - 6th Military Region.
This visit reflects the interest that the People's National Army’s High Command gives to the degree of operational availability of its units located in this very sensitive region, and the living and working conditions of the personnel mobilized along our borders far south, especially during this sacred month of Ramadhan.
At the beginning and after the welcoming ceremony, the Lieutenant General observed, with the presence of Major General Mohamed ADJROUD, Commander of the 6th Military Region, a moment of silence in memory of Chahid MENAD M'Hamed, knowing that the headquarters of the Sector bears his name. He laid a wreath of flowers in front of the commemorative stele of the Chahid and recited the Fatiha on his soul and on those of our valiant Chouhada. At the end, the Lieutenant General followed a presentation given by the Commander of the 6th Military Region, and another one given by the Commander of Operational Sector of Bordj Badji Mokhtar.
Afterwards, the Lieutenant General held a meeting with the executives of the Region, where he delivered an orientation speech, that was followed via videoconferencing by all the units of the Region, and where he stressed on the fact that our country needs to federate the efforts of all its devoted children, in order to abort all plots targeting its territorial and popular unity:
“In the light of the major security challenges generated by the new international and regional geostrategic situation, and on top of the crises that are shaking our sub-region, marked by chronic security vulnerability, with in particular the expansion of terrorism in our immediate neighbourhood and the proliferation of cross-border organized crime, our country needs today, more than ever, to federate the efforts of its devoted children, in order to abort any manoeuvre targeting our territorial and popular unity.
These efforts must be based on unity, cohesion and solidarity between the different components of the Algerian people, confidence in the institutions of the State, led by the People's National Army, and the commitment to serve the Fatherland, to preserve its supreme interests and to strengthen its security, stability and sovereignty, for the construction of the New Algeria, whose benchmarks have been drawn by the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence”.
The Lieutenant General recalled, at the same time, that the illusions and chimeras of the saboteurs will never happen on the land of Chouhada, because the Algerian people and their Army, authentic as they are, have only in mind the interest of their Nation and the future of their children:
“It is thanks to the cohesion that the Algerian people were able to free their country from the yoke of the colonizer; a cohesion that enabled us to overcome the barbaric terrorism, and which will undoubtedly open to our country the paths of prosperity and progress, and will make it, with the will of Allah the Almighty, a haven of peace and prosperity, unlike what the conspirators, sly and sick of mind, wished for our country, they will never wish well for Algeria and its people.
The picture is very clear for anyone who carefully observes the relentless campaigns targeting our country in recent times, they will not need long reflection or deep analysis to see the evil of their designs, the wickedness of their objectives and their protagonists, who betrayed their nation and sold their souls and their honour.
In these times when Algeria most needs to strengthen its national unity, and to bring together all the forces around the supreme interest of the nation, these mercenaries are deliberately trying to sow discord and division between its people, and between the people and their Army. These are illusions and chimeras that will never come true on the land of Chouhada, because the Algerian people and their Army, authentic as they are, have no other objective than that of serving the interest of their Nation and the future of its children”.
By the end of this meeting, the Lieutenant General issued a set of guidelines and instructions that are a part of the living and working conditions’ improvement of the personnel. It also aims at enhancing the performance and the degree of vigilance in order to deal with all the security challenges in this sensitive region.
