Lieutenant General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of the PNA on a working and inspection visit to the Land Forces’ Command

Within the dynamics of his visits to the various Units of the People's National Army during this sacred month of Ramadhan, Lieutenant General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of the People's National Army, carried out, today, Thursday April 21st, 2022, a working and inspection visit to the Land Forces’ Command.

This visit, that reiterates the People's National Army’s High Command’s interest in a direct contact with its personnel, aims to inquire about the state of execution of the combat preparation program of the Forces, as well as the living and working conditions of the personnel and forces and their readiness to face current and future challenges.

After the welcoming ceremony, the Lieutenant General observed, in the company of Major General Ammar ATHAMNIA, Land Forces’ Commander, a moment of silence in memory of the Chahid "Didouche Mourad" knowing that the headquarters of the command bears his name. He then laid a wreath of flowers in front of the commemorative stele of the Chahid and recited the Fatiha in his memory and our brave Chouhada.

Subsequently, the Lieutenant General held a meeting with the executives and personnel of the Land Forces’ Command, where he delivered an orientation speech followed by videoconferencing by all its units. In this regard, he affirmed that the People's National Army is carrying on with the execution of a large and ambitious program of modernization and renewal of the capacities of its battle corps, adding that the PNA is fully aware that Algeria is much more than a simple geographical territory but constitutes a civilizational presence and a country which knows its land borders perfectly and has no expansionist ambition:

"The People's National Army pursues, in the light of the orientations of the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, and within the framework of its constitutional missions, the execution of a broad and ambitious program for modernizing and renewing the capabilities of its battle corps, in order to bring together the best conditions of aptitude and operational availability, capable of enabling it to meet the challenges linked to national defence and to flawlessly accomplish its missions .

This ambitious program that we are determined to implement, draws its source from the deep conviction that Algeria represents for us, within the People's National Army, much more than a simple geographical territory, but constitutes a civilizational presence anchored in the depths of history and a country that discerns perfectly its land borders and has no expansionist ambitions because its doctrine is exclusively defensive".

The Lieutenant General insisted on the fact that, if needed, Algeria will be able to respond forcefully to all those who risk undermining its territorial integrity, the unity of its people and its national sovereignty:

“Algeria will know, in return, how to respond with force to all those who venture to undermine its territorial integrity, its popular unity and its national sovereignty, and will advance, with sure steps, in its glorious journey and her noble plan, that of being what she wants to become and not what we want her to become.

We are aware that Algeria, great for its immutable positions, has never been appreciated, nor will it be, by certain conspiratorial parties, and that the attempts at blackmail, destabilization and exhaustion, faced, only aim to create obstacles to its potentialities and factors of its power”.

The Lieutenant General assured that Algeria has real potential that ensures, in addition to stability and prosperity, an important place on the regional and international level:

“Algeria has real potential that will ensure a climate of stability and prosperity, but also an important place on the regional and international level. Likewise, we are certain that the real challenge is to build strong institutions, capable of discerning the real needs of society in a timely manner, of guiding and organizing its natural dynamics in the supreme national interest. Institutions that reflect the specificities of our people as they are in reality: unshakable in the face of hardship, ready to sacrifice and to take up the greatest challenges of today and tomorrow”.

By the end of this meeting, the Lieutenant General gave instructions and orientations aimed at raising the performance of our Land Forces, before listening to the interventions and proposals of the executives of the Command.
