Operational report of PNA from 30th March to 05th April 2022
Within the dynamics of the sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 30th March to 05th April 2022, several operations crowned with high quality results that reflect professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, detachments of People's National Army arrested (07) elements of support for terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and within the continuity with the intense efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People's National Army arrested, in coordination with the various security services at the level of the 2nd and 3rd Military Regions, (04) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce huge quantities of drugs across the borders with Morocco, amounting to (08) quintals and (33) kilograms of treated kif, while (10) other drug traffickers were arrested in possession of (4,862) psychotropic tablets during various operations carried out across other Military Regions.
In addition, detachments of People's National Army intercepted, in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam, Djanet and Tindouf (84) individuals and seized one (01) submachine gun type Kalashnikov, a quantity of ammunition, (14) vehicles, (104) generators, (62) jackhammers, (09) metal detectors, quantities of explosives and detonation tools and other equipment used in illegal gold mining operations, while (11) other individuals were apprehended and (04) hunting rifles and (20) quintals of tobacco were seized in El-Oued, Oum El-Bouaghi and Khenchla.
In the same context, Border Guards thwarted smuggle attempts of large quantities of fuel amounting to (53,508) litres in Tebessa, El-Tarf, Souk Ahras and Bordj Badji Mokhtar, while (265) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested in Djanet, Tlemcen, In Amenas and In Guezzam.
