Within the dynamics of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 06th to 12th April 2022, several operations having led to high quality results which reflect the professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:

      Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, detachments of People's National Army arrested (16) elements of support for terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory.

      Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with the intense efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People's National Army arrested, in coordination with the various security services at the 2nd and 3rd Military Regions, (17) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce large quantities of drugs across the borders with Morocco, amounting to (09) quintals and (13) kilograms of treated kif, while (16) other drug traffickers were arrested in their possession (64) kilograms of the same substance as well as (97,370) psychotropic tablets during various operations carried out through the other Military Regions.




      In addition, detachments of People's National Army intercepted, in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam, Djanet and Tindouf (56) individuals and seized (12) vehicles, (83) generators, (53) jackhammers, (02) metal detectors, quantities of explosives and detonation tools, in addition to equipment used in illicit gold panning operations, while (02) individuals were arrested in possession of (02) hunting rifles in Tebessa and El-Oued.

      In the same context, Border Guards thwarted attempts to smuggle large quantities of fuel amounting to (71,311) litres in Tebessa, El-Tarf, Souk Ahras, Bordj Badji Mokhtar and El-Oued, while (45) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested in Bechar, El-Menea, Tlemcen and In Amenas.
