Operational report of PNA from 13th to 19th April 2022
Within the dynamics of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 13th to 19th April 2022, several operations which led to high quality results which reflect professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, detachments of People's National Army arrested (07) elements of support for terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with the intense efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People's National Army arrested, in coordination with the various security services at the level of territories of the 2nd and 3rd Military Regions, (06) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce huge quantities of drugs across the borders with Morocco, amounting to (12) quintals and (76) kilograms of treated kif, while (19) other drug traffickers were arrested in their possession (07) kilograms of the same substance as well as (18,421) psychotropic tablets during various operations carried out through the other Military Regions.
In addition, detachments of People's National Army intercepted, in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam, Djanet and Tindouf (58) individuals and seized (24) vehicles, (36) generators, (21) jackhammers, quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illegal gold panning operations, as well as (22) tons of raw gold and stones mixture, while (09) other individuals were apprehended in their possession (04) hunting rifles, (46) quintals of copper and aluminium, (67,970) packets of tobacco and (34) tons of foodstuffs intended for smuggling seized in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam, Ouargla, In Amenas , El-Oued, Setif and Batna. Similarly, Border Guards thwarted smuggle attempts of quantities of fuel amounting to (24,064) litres in Tebessa, El-Tarf, Souk Ahras and Bordj Badji Mokhtar.
In another context, Coast Guards thwarted, at the level of our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and proceeded to the rescue of (62) individuals on board artisanal boats, while (405) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested in Djanet, Tamanrasset, Tlemcen, Relizane, Naama and Bechar.
