Operational report of PNA from 20th to 26th April 2022
Within the dynamic of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 20th to 26th April 2022, several operations which led to high quality results that reflect the professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, detachments of People's National Army arrested (13) elements of support for terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and within continuity with the intense efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People's National Army have arrested, in coordination with the various security services at the level of the 2nd and 3rd Military Regions, (06) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce quantities of drugs across the borders with Morocco, amounting to (02) quintals and (70) kilograms of treated kif, while (16) other drug traffickers were arrested in their possession (148) kilograms of the same substance as well as (56076) psychotropic tablets during various operations carried out through the other Military Regions.
In addition, detachments of People's National Army intercepted, in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam, Djanet and Tindouf (480) individuals and seized (25) vehicles, (110) generators, (60) jackhammers, (08) metal detectors, quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illegal gold mining operations, as well as (14) tons of raw gold and stones mixture, while (12) other individuals were apprehended and (08) hunting rifles, (353485) packets of tobacco and (104) tons of foodstuffs intended for smuggling were seized in El-Oued, Ouargla, Biskra, Sétif and In Guezzam. likewise, the Border Guards thwarted smuggle attempts of quantities of fuel amounting to (51489) litres in Tébessa, El-Tarf, Souk Ahras, Tamanrasset and El-Oued.
In another context, the Coast Guards thwarted, at the level of our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and carried out the rescue of (101) individuals on board homemade boats, while (254) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested in Djanet, Tlemcen, Illizi, El-Bayadh and Béchar.
