Operational report of PNA from 14th November to 20th December 2022
Within the dynamics of sustained efforts in fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 14th to 20th December 2022, several operations which led to high quality results which reflect professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, combined detachments of People's National Army eliminated during an ambush carried out at the southern border strip, operational sector of In Guezzam, two(02) terrorists and captured (02) others. (03) three submachine gun 12.7mm heavy caliber, one (01)machine guns type FMPK, seven(07) submachine guns type Kalashnikov as well as one (01) RPG-7 rocket launcher, one (01) sniper rifle type SVD and one (01) machine gun weapon of unidentified type were also recovered during this operation. Similarly, other detachments of the PNA in coordination with the competent security services, captured, during an operation carried out in Timiaouine, operational sector Bordj Badji Mokhtar, (03) terrorists activating in the Sahel region, and arrested three (03) support elements .these two quality operations were the subject of detailed statement released previously.
In the same context, combined detachments of the PNA apprehended (08) support elements for terrorist groups during separate operations across the national territory, while one (01) home-made bomb was discovered and destroyed during a search operation carried out in skikda.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with the sustained efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People's National Army arrested, in coordination with the various security services during operations carried out through the Military Regions, (43) drug traffickers and foiled attempts to introduce huge quantities of drugs from the borders with Morocco, amounting to (08) quintals and (35) kilograms of treated kif, while (214,237) psychotropic tablets and (1.048) of cocaine were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam and Djanet, detachments of People's National Army intercepted (76) individuals and seized (39) vehicles, (139) generators, (50) jackhammers, (95.5) tons of raw gold and stones mixture, as well as detonation tools and equipment used in illegal gold panning operations as well as detonation tools and equipment used in illicit gold mining operations, while (21) other individuals were arrested and (04) hunting rifles, (3,500) cartridges , quantities of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation amounting to (121) tons, as well as (56,774) packets of tobacco and (14,962) units of various beverages were seized in separate operations across the national territory.In the same context , Border Guards thwarted, in coordination with National Gendarmerie services, smuggle attempts of large quantities of fuel amounting to (29,975) liters in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar , Tebessa, souk Ahras et Al Taref .
In addition, Coast Guard thwarted, in our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and proceeded to the rescue of (64) individuals aboard craft-built boats, while (219) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
