Operational report of People's National Army from 21st to 27th December, 2022
Wthin the framework of continuous efforts deployed in fight against terrorism and against organized crime in all its forms, units and detachments of People’s National Army carried out, during the period from 21st to 27thDecember 2022, several operations which led to high quality results that reflect professionalism, vigilance and constant availability of our Armed Forces across the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, combined detachments of People's National Army arrested (05) support elements for terrorist groups in separate operations throughthe national territory, while another detachment of People's National Army discovered and destroyed (01) home-made bomb in Tebessa.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with the sustained efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People's National Army, in coordination with the various security services, arrested (33) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to smuggle huge quantities of drugs across borders with Morocco, estimated at (05) roadblocks and (31) kilograms of processed kif, while (342) grams of cocaine and (162972) psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam, Djanet and Tindouf, detachments of People's National Army arrested (324) persons and seized (15) vehicles, (143) generators, (64) jackhammers and (09) detectors of metals, in addition denotation tools and equipment used in illegal gold panning operation , while (05) persons were arrested and (04) automatic guns , (01) submachine gun type Kalashnikov , (01) a full ammunition magazine and (06) hunting rifles And the quantities of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation amounting to (23) tons, as well as (205,000) packets of tobacco and (3,080) units of various beverages, through separate operations across the national territory. Border guards, in coordination with the national gendarmerie, thwarted attempts to smuggle large quantities of fuel estimated at (28,122) liters in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Tebessa, Souk Ahras and El Tarf.
On the other hand, the Coast Guard foiled illegal immigration attempts on our national coasts and rescued (259) persons who were on board artisanal made boats, while (90) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested through the national territory.
