Operational report of the PNA from 26th January to 1st February 2022
Within the dynamics of the continuous efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of the People's National Army carried out, from 26th January to 1st February 2022, several operations that led to quality results reflecting the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, detachments of the People's National Army arrested (08) elements of support to terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with the intense efforts aimed at countering the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of the People's National Army arrested, in coordination with the various security services of the 2nd and 3rd Military Regions, (15) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce large quantities of drugs across the borders with Morocco, amounting to (10) quintals and (53) kilograms of treated kif, while (22) other drug traffickers were arrested in possession of (25) kilograms of the same substance and (355,464) psychotropic tablets, seized during various operations carried out across the other Military Regions.
In addition, detachments of the People's National Army intercepted, in Tamanrasset, In Guezzam, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Djanet and Tindouf (58) individuals and seized (11) vehicles, (225) generators, (86) jackhammers, (03) metal detectors, quantities of explosives, detonation tools and other equipment used in illicit gold mining operations, as well as (10) tons of raw gold mixtures and stones, while (13) other individuals were apprehended in their possession (08) hunting rifles, (02) automatic pistols, (51) tonnes of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and (10 372) units of tobacco seized in Ouargla, In Guezzam, El-Oued, Biskra, Djelfa, Menea, Batna and Tizi-Ouzou.
Within the same context, Border Guards foiled attempts to smuggle quantities of fuel amounting to (4,990) liters in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Tebessa, El-Tarf and Souk Ahras, while (109) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested in Tlemcen, Tamanrasset, Adrar, Ouargla and In-Amenas.
