Operational report of PNA from 02nd to 08th February 2022
Within the framework of dynamics of the continuous efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 02nd to 08th February 2022, several operations crowned with high quality results which reflect the professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, detachments of People's National Army arrested (07) elements of support for terrorist groups in separate operations throughout the national territory.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and within the continuity with the intense efforts aiming to at counter the drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People's National Army arrested, in coordination with the various security services at the level of the 2nd and 3rd Military Regions, (07) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce large quantities of drugs across the borders with Morocco, amounting to (07) quintals and (21) kilograms of treated kif, while (21) other drug traffickers were arrested in possession of (22.5) kilograms of the same substance, (152.31) grams of cocaine and (25992) psychotropic tablets, seized during various operations carried out across the other Military Regions .
In addition, detachments of People's National Army intercepted, in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Djanet and Tindouf (84) individuals and seized (20) vehicles, (214) generators, (132) jackhammers, (04) metal detectors, quantities of explosives, detonation tools and other equipment used in illegal gold mining operations, as well as (05) tons of raw gold and stones mixture, while (15) other individuals were apprehended in possession of (14) hunting rifles, (173) quintals of copper, (57) quintals of tobacco and (25.6) tonnes of foodstuffs intended for smuggling, in addition to (20140) units of different drinks seized in Tizi-Ouzou, Rélizane, Batna, Guelma, El-Oued, Biskra and Bordj Badji Mokhtar. Similarly, the Border Guards thwarted smuggle attempts of quantities of fuel amounting to (28035) litres in Tébessa, El-Tarf, Souk Ahras and Bordj Badji Mokhtar.
In another context, the Coast Guards thwarted, at the level of our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and proceeded to the rescue of (61) individuals on board artisanal boats, while (175) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested in Tlemcen, Nâama, Aïn Témouchent, Djanet, Tindouf and Ouargla.
