The Lieutenant General, Chief of Staff of People's National Army chairs the 15th session of the Orientation Council of the Higher School of War

In accordance with the dispositions of the presidential decree of 26th September 2005, establishing the Higher School of War, the Lieutenant General, Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of People's National Army, chaired this Thursday 06th January 2022, the work of the 15th session of the Orientation Council of this prestigious School.

After the welcoming ceremony, the Lieutenant General opened the meeting work with a speech, through which he emphasized the interest given by the High Command of People's National Army, mainly to the training apparatus, and to the Higher School of War, in particular, with regard to the sensitivity of the mission with which it is assigned:

"The High Command of People's National Army make sure, under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, to give all due interest to our training apparatus, in general, and to the Higher Scholl of War, in particular, assigned with a highly vital mission, which consists in developing the capacities of senior officers, in particular in terms of assimilation of strategic data, technological, economic and human, relating to the field of defence and national security and to qualify them to occupy senior positions within operational commands ”.

The Lieutenant-General emphasized the sensitivity of the mission incumbent on the Higher School of War, with regard to international events and the particular regional context that our country is currently going through in the shadow of the attempts carried out by the enemies of the people, aiming to create sources of tension in the sub-region:

“Indeed, this mission is as sensitive as it is vital for the People's National Army, in view of the international events and the particular regional context that we are going through lately, in the light of the manoeuvres carried out by the enemies of the people, to create sources of tension in the sub-region, aimed at the erosion of its States and the theft of its natural resources, either through direct action or under the cover of non-governmental organizations and multinationals, which exercise blackmail and the pressure to interfere in the internal affairs of these states.

This must be added the profound changes made to the characteristics of modern wars, which are now waged by proxy, or through recourse to private military bodies, terrorist and subversive organizations, organized crime and use of drugs as a weapon. In addition, it calls for the manipulation of public opinion, through tendentious propaganda, aiming to shake the morale of the populations, sowing discord and increasing conflicts between its ethnic, religious and tribal components, such as with the various forms of hybrid military operations, aiming to the destruction of states and the overthrow of their regimes ”.

The Lieutenant General has given instructions to those in charge of this School, in order to provide more efforts in order to adapt to all changes, to meet the challenges and to win the stake of the world today, in this case, the safeguard of the sovereignty of our country and the preservation of its security and stability:

"It is Also up to you, as those in charge of this Higher School, to make more efforts to adapt the teaching programs provided to the above-mentioned developments and to the great technological advances recorded in the various weapons and systems of weapons. Indeed, by revolutionizing the methods of combat and the tactics of modern battle, these new systems have changed the course of wars, hence the need to meet the challenges and win the stakes of today's world, which consists in safeguarding the sovereignty of our country and preserving its security and stability”.

At the end, the Lieutenant General followed an exhaustive presentation by the Commander of the School, on the assessment of the objectives achieved since the previous session of the Orientation Council, as well as on the plan forecast for the coming year 2022-2023, before inquiring closely about the various administrative and educational infrastructures.
