Operational report of the PNA from January 12th to January 18th, 2022
Within the dynamics of the continuous efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of the People's National Army carried out, from January 12th to January18th, 2022, several operations that led to quality results reflecting the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, detachments of the People's National Army arrested (07) elements supporting terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory, while another detachment of the PNA discovered and destroyed (06) terrorists’ casemates during a search and racketing operation in Skikda.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with the intense efforts aimed at countering the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of the People's National Army arrested, in coordination with the various security services of the 2nd and 3rd Military Regions, (16) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce quantities of drugs across the borders with Morocco, amounting to (02) quintals and (32) kilograms of treated kif and ( 556) grams of cocaine, while (51) other drug traffickers were arrested and (67.5) kilograms of the same substance and (357623) psychotropic tablets were seized during various operations carried out across the other Military Regions.
In addition, detachments of the People's National Army intercepted, in Tamanrasset, In Guezzam, Bordj Badji Mokhtar and Djanet (214) individuals and seized (32) vehicles, (255) generators, (168) jackhammers, (06 ) metal detectors, quantities of explosives, detonation tools and other equipment used in illicit gold mining operations, as well as (50) tons of raw gold and stone mixture, while (42) tons of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and (35700) units of tobacco were seized in Adrar, In Guezzam, Ouargla, El-Oued and Biskra. Similarly, the Border Guards thwarted attempts to smuggle large quantities of fuel amounting to (11866) liters in Adrar, Tébessa, El-Tarf and Souk Ahras.
In another context, the Coast Guards thwarted, attempts at illegal emigration and proceeded to the rescue of (111) individuals on board of artisanal boats, while (58) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were apprehended in Tlemcen, Djanet and Tébessa.
