Operational report of the PNA from January 19th to January 25th, 2022
Within the dynamics of the continuous efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of the People's National Army carried out, from January 19th to January 25th, 2022, several operations that led to quality results reflecting the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
As part of the fight against terrorism, detachments of the People's National Army arrested (05) elements of support for terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory, while another detachment of the PNA discovered, during a reconnaissanceoperationin Bordj Badji Mokhtar/6thMR, a hideoutwith (07) remote detonation control systems, one (01) grenade, (09) ammunition chains, detonation capsules, in addition to (285) bullets of different calibres. Similarly, (10) terrorists’ casemates and (02) homemade bombs were discovered and destroyed during a search and racketing operation in Tizi Ouzou and Boumerdes.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with the intense efforts aimed at countering the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of the People's National Army arrested, in coordination with the various security services in the 2nd and 3rd Military Regions, (13) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce quantities of drugs across the borders with Morocco, amounting to (23) quintals and (15) kilograms of treated kif, while that (20) other drug traffickers were arrested and (148) kilograms of the same substance and (166,857) psychotropic tablets were seized during various operations carried out through the other Military Regions.
In addition, detachments of the People's National Army intercepted, in Tamanrasset, In Guezzam, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Djanet and Tindouf (91) individuals and seized (19) vehicles, (151) generators, (105) jackhammers, (13) metal detectors, quantities of explosives, detonation tools and other equipment used in illicit gold mining operations, as well as (62) tons of raw gold and stone mixture, while (07) hunting rifles, (03) automatic pistols, (105.5) tons of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and (22,120) units of tobacco were seized in In Guezzam, Ouargla, El-Oued, Biskra, In Amenas, Mila and M'sila.
In the same context, the Border Guards thwarted attempts to smuggle quantities of fuel amounting to (7149) litres in Tébessa, El-Tarf and Souk Ahras, while (239) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were apprehended in Djanet, Tlemcen, Tindouf and Bechar.
