The President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, in a visit to the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defence
The President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, Mr. Abdelmadjid TEBBOUNE, paid a visit this morning, Tuesday January 18th, 2022, to the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defence, where he was welcomed by the Lieutenant General, Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of the People's National Army.
After hearing the national anthem and being presented the military honours by the various formations of the People's National Army, the President of the Republic greeted his guests: the Commander of the Republican Guard , the Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defence, the Forces’Commanders, the National Gendarmerie’s commander, the 1st Military Region’s Commander, the General Controller of the Army, as well as the Heads of Departments of the Ministry of National Defence and People's National Army’s General Staff.
The President of the Republic then delivered a speech to the executives and personnel of the People's National Army, broadcasted via videoconference, to all the Forces’ Commands, the six Military Regions, all large units and schools through-out the entire national territory.
Before that, the Lieutenant General, gave a welcoming speech through which he thanked the President of the Republic, for this visit that comes at the beginning of a new year, carrying ambitions and legitimate aspirations for a better future for our valiant people, in particular, after the completion of the process of institutional erection of a new Algeria:
"There is no doubt that this visit is very symbolic, knowing that it comes at the beginning of the year 2022, for which we aspire vigour, effort and promising new exploits, that we can add up to those already accomplished during the last two years. The process of building a new Algeria will carry on, in this context, at a steady pace, so as to achieve the expected change, to materialize the legitimate aspirations of our valiant people and to restore hope to the citizens.
After the completion of the process of institutional edification of our country, the State will devote itself entirely to the prioritized sectors. Indeed, you already announced, Mr. President, that 2022 will be by excellence the year of the economy, in particular through the diversification of our financial resources, the achievement of our self-sufficiency in food and those strategic fields, the objective is to put Algeria back on the track of development and progress”.
On this occasion, the Lieutenant General also underlined the sincere commitment of the People's National Army to contribute to the national effort, aimed at achieving the expected progress for our country, in a climate of security and strong economy:
"With the aim of achieving the expected economic recovery, the People's National Army will ensure, under your enlightened leadership, to support these determined efforts, firstly, through the continued development of military manufacturing and the contribution to the maintenance of the industrial fabric national level and, secondly, by permanently meeting the requirements of security and stability and to perpetuate the climate of serenity and tranquillity throughout the entire national territory.
Precisely for this reason, we are fully convinced that security and economy are interdependent on each other, security being an intrinsic condition for the development of economic activity, while a strong economy contributes greatly to security and stability”.
The Lieutenant General also stressed on the fact that the designs of our country's enemies will be doomed to total failure, because the strength of Algeria lies in the faith, conviction, honesty and will of its children, and their loyalty to the memory of the millions of our valiant martyrs
“Faced with a dead end, the enemies have resorted to intensifying hostile campaigns against our country, aimed at hindering its laudable efforts towards oppressed peoples defending just causes. Added to this is their vain attempt to demoralize our people and break the sacred bond that binds them to their glorious history.
These macabre designs and propaganda campaigns will be doomed to total failure, as long as there are men devoted to the fatherland and faithful to their commitment.
Indeed, Mr. President, we are strong. Strong by our faith, strong by our conviction, strong by our integrity, strong by our abilities, strong by our determination, strong by our dedication to Algeria and to the memory of the millions of valiant martyrs. Yes, we are strong and, for this reason, the enemies of Algeria will never succeed in achieving their abject goals”.
