In commemoration of the 60th anniversary of Independence Day, and with a view to perpetuate our centuries-old military traditions, Mr. Abdelmadjid TEBBOUNE, President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, supervised today, Tuesday 05th July 2022, at the level of the national road N°11, along the Great Mosque of Algiers, the military parade organized by the People's National Army and which was attended, as guests of honour, the Chiefs of State of Tunisia, Palestine, Niger, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic as well as representatives of certain brotherly and friendly countries.

This military parade was also held in the presence of the General, Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of People's National Army, the President of the Nation’s Council, the President of People's National Assembly, the Prime Minister, members of the Government, the Commander of the Republican Guard, the Commanders of Forces, the Commander of the National Gendarmerie, the Commanders of the Military Regions and Major Generals and Generals of People's National Army, alongside senior state officials, representatives of the revolutionary family, heads of media organizations and the university family, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps and attachés defence accredited in Algeria.

Before the beginning of the parade, President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence inspected, with the General, Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of PNA the various formations participating in this parade on the sounds of military music and of the sixty (60) cannon shots.
Subsequently, President of the Republic delivered a speech in which he addressed his wishes to the Algerian people on this glorious occasion which he is celebrating in the shadow of New Algeria:
“On this great and memorable day, and before this imposing demonstration of an Algeria proud of its glories and faithful to its Chouhada, I present to our valiant people all my congratulations and all my best wishes, while we are commemorating an exceptional event. for the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the recovery of national sovereignty, at a time when the institutions and the constitutional authorities of the State have resulted in a phase of Algeria confident in its present and full of hope in its future.”
The President of the Republic also hailed the great achievements of People's National Army, a worthy heir to the National Liberation Army:
“It is important, in front of this imposing demonstration, to reiterate the Nation's feelings of gratitude to the shield of Algeria, our People's National Army, standard bearer of the Liberation Army, alongside which we are proud to attend, on the occasion of this historic event, the great realizations and achievements it has made.”
These moments, of deep symbolism, while Algerian people witness the levels reached by our powerful Army, in terms of professionalism and great mastery of military technologies, also conceal all the feelings of loyalty to our Chouhada and to the Message of eternal November.”
At the end of his speech, President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence announced the official launch of this military parade, with, ahead, the squares of the Musical Formation and the Cavalry, under the Republican Guard, followed by the squares of the Mujahideen, the Cadets of the Nation, the Commands of Forces, the Military Schools, as well as the squares of the General Directorate of National Security, the General Directorate of Customs and the General Directorate of Civil Protection, before leading the way to the formations of combat vehicles, at their head, the different types of Tanks, the vehicles of the mechanized and motorized Infantry, artillery, the various types of launcher vehicles, rockets, several artillery systems against aircraft and anti-aircraft defence missile systems, like the “BUK-M3” and “S-300” systems, numerous radar systems, light armoured vehicles, reconnaissance and assault vehicles. The training of the various Combat Engineering vehicles dedicated to the opening of roads and the laying of bridges and various multifaceted support vehicles, including technical and medical vehicles, then took over, ahead of the training of motorcycles under the National Gendarmerie.






In addition, the air formations embellished the sky of the Bay of Algiers through aerial figures executed by planes belonging to the Air Force including tactical transport planes, reconnaissance planes and fighter planes and bombers alongside the formations of combat, reconnaissance, transport and search and rescue helicopters alongside which helicopters from the National Gendarmerie, the GDNS and the General Directorate of Civil Protection took part.
Exhibitions of parachute jumps performed by the national military parachute jumping teams, male and female, also marked this military parade, before the entry of the formations of the Naval Forces made up of various warships and multipurpose ships in the image submarines, command and force projection, help and support boats, frigates, corvettes, minesweepers, training ships and search and rescue ships.
The parade, in which one hundred (100) formations took part, ended with entertaining artistic performances by the Bagpipe Troupe under the Republican Guard.
