President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, presides over the annual ceremony of ranks and medals awarding
Mr. Abdelmadjid TEBBOUNE, President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, chaired this morning 04th July 2022 at the People's Palace, the annual ceremony of ranks and medals awarding, on the eve of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the recovery of national sovereignty.
During the ceremony, Lieutenant General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of People's National Army addressed a welcoming speech, in which he thanked the President of the Republic for presiding, personally , the ceremony of ranks and medals awarding, organized this year at the People's Palace, in concretization of the symbolism of the strong Army-Nation link:
“First of all, it’s a great pleasure to express to You, Mr. President, on my behalf, and on behalf of all the personnel of People's National Army, my deepest thanks and my sincere gratitude for having presided, personally, the annual ceremony of ranks and medals awarding. A happy occasion that you wanted to anchor as an honourable tradition, which comes to adorn the customs of our dear homeland and those of our military institution, and a renewed opportunity through which the executives of People's National Army and its personnel reap the fruits of their labour, with promotions in the ranks and decorations in medals, as recognition of their efforts and their determination in the service of their army and their country.
The organization of this ceremony comes within the celebration of one of the most illustrious dates of our great history, the 60th anniversary of the National Independence Day. A commemoration that marks our minds with the true meaning of victory, and fills us with dignity and pride feelings of our glories and the heroism of our ancestors of the eternal November generation. This is a precious occasion to our hearts, through which we fulfil the duty of gratitude and loyalty to the heroes of Algeria who have honoured the oath, and preserved the legacy. An anniversary that instils in us the principles and noble values that have shaped our personality and our victorious journey, and to which we must remain attached by ensuring their concretization, and through which we renew the oath we took before our valiant Chouhada, by praying, with humility and reverence, for the souls of those who have given their most treasured to their country.
I would like to renew to you, once again, our thanks and our consideration for your deep attachment to presiding over this ceremony. In turn, I extend my warmest congratulations to all those who have been promoted to higher grades and those who have been honoured with decorations. This deserved ceremony, is the fruit of the perseveration within capacities development of our Armed Forces on solid bases and on unshakable foundations able to guarantee to our Army more progress, to our people security and serenity and to our dear country, prosperity and stability.”
Then, President of the Republic gave the rank of General to the Lieutenant General, Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of People's National Army, then, the rank of Major General to a number of Generals and the rank of General to a number of Colonels. He also awarded medals to military executives and civilian personnel. Subsequently, the General, Chief of Staff of PNA also gave the rank of Brigadier General to some promoted senior officers. For his part, the General, Commander of the Republican Guard gave higher ranks to other promoted executives.
