Operational report of PNA from 29th June to 12th July 2022
Within the dynamics of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 29th June to 12th July 2022, several operations which led to high quality results reflecting professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, detachments of People's National Army arrested (21) elements of support for terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory, while other detachments of PNA discovered and destroyed one (01) casemate for terrorists and (06) homemade bombs in Tebessa and Ain Defla.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and within continuity with the intense efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People's National Army arrested, in coordination with the security services at the level of the 2nd and 3rd Military Regions, (06) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce quantities of drugs across the borders with Morocco, amounting to (2) quintals and (41) kilograms of treated kif, while (19) other drug traffickers were arrested in their possession (2) quintals and (71) kilograms of the same substance and (172,601) psychotropic tablets during numerous operations carried out through the Military Regions.
In addition, detachments of People's National Army intercepted, in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam, Djanet and Tindouf, (96) individuals and seized (26) vehicles, (248) generators, (150) jackhammers, (07) metal detectors, (08) tons of raw gold and stones mixture, detonation tools and equipment used in illegal gold panning operations, while (04) other individuals were apprehended and one (01) submachine gun type Kalashnikov, one (01) ammunition magazine, (12) hunting rifles, (6.9) tons of tobacco and (25.3) tons of foodstuffs intended for smuggling, were seized in In Amenas, Tebessa, Khenchela, El-Oued, Biskra, Djelfa, Batna, and Ghardaia. In the same context, Border Guards thwarted, in coordination with the services of the National Gendarmerie, smuggle attempts of quantities of fuel amounting to (54,358) litres in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Tebessa, El-Tarf and Souk Ahras.
Moreover, Coast Guard thwarted, at the level of our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and proceeded to the rescue of (123) individuals on board homemade boats, while (437) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
