Operational report of PNA from 13th to 19th July 2022
Within the dynamics of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 13th to 19th July 2022, several operations which led to high quality results which reflect the professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, detachments of People's National Army arrested two (02) elements of support for terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory, while other detachments of PNA discovered and destroyed six (06) casemates for terrorists and (05) homemade bombs in Boumerdes.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and within the continuity with the intense efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People's National Army arrested, in coordination with the various security services at the level of the 2nd and 3rd Military Regions, (06) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce huge quantities of drugs across the borders with Morocco, amounting to (13) quintals and (63) kilograms of treated kif, while (15) other drug traffickers were arrested in possession of (8) kilograms of the same substance and (79539) psychotropic tablets during various operations carried out across the Military Regions.
In addition, detachments of People's National Army intercepted, in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam, Djanet and Tindouf, (66) individuals and seized (08) vehicles, (31) generators, (15) jackhammers and detonation tools and equipment used in illegal gold panning operations, while (05) other individuals were apprehended and (01) hunting rifle, (6.5) tons of tobacco and (4.7) tons of foodstuffs intended for smuggling, were seized in In Amenas, Djelfa, El-Oued, and Ouargla. In the same context, the Border Guards thwarted, in coordination with the services of the National Gendarmerie, attempts to smuggle quantities of fuel amounting to (7739) litres in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Tébessa, El-Tarf and Souk Ahras.
In addition, the Coast Guards have thwarted, at the level of our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and proceeded to the rescue of (76) individuals aboard craft-built boats, while (246) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
