Operational report of PNA from 20th to 26th July 2022
Within the dynamics of the sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 20th to 26th July, 2022, several operations which led to high quality results reflecting as well professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and within continuity with the intense efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of the People's National Army arrested, in coordination with the various security services at the 2nd and 3rd Military Regions, (06) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce quantities of drugs across the borders with Morocco, amounting to (63) kilograms of treated kif, while (24) others drug traffickers were arrested in possession of (3.4) kilograms of the same substance and (376627) psychotropic tablets during various operations carried out across the Military Regions.
In addition, detachments of the People's National Army intercepted, in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam and Djanet, (84) individuals and seized (12) vehicles, (59) generators, (53) jackhammers, (02) metal detectors and detonation tools and equipment used in illegal gold panning operations, while (05) other individuals were apprehended and (05) hunting rifles, (250) bullets, (5.37) tons of tobacco and huge quantities of foodstuffs intended for smuggling amounting to (190.5) tons, were seized in Tamanrasset, In Guezzam, Adrar, Batna, Biskra and Ouargla. In the same context, the Border Guards thwarted, in coordination with the National Gendarmerie services, smuggle attempts of large quantities of fuel amounting to (79711) litres in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Tamanrasset, Adrar, Tébessa, El-Tarf and Souk Ahras.
In addition, the Coast Guard thwarted, at the level of our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and proceeded to the rescue of (370) individuals on board homemade boats, while (117) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
