Lieutenant General, Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of the People's National Army on a working and inspection visit to the 3rd Military Region
As part of the monitoring of the execution of the 2021/2022 combat preparation program in major units of the People's National Army across the six Military Regions, Lieutenant General, Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of the People's National Army began this Monday, June 06th, 2022, a working and inspection visit to the 3rd Military Region in Béchar, where he will hold an orientation meeting with the personnel of the Region and will supervise the execution of a night exercise with live ammunition, at the Southern Operational Sector of Tindouf.
After the welcoming ceremony presided over by Major General Mostefa SMAALI, 3rd Military Region’s Commander, the Lieutenant General held, at the Southern Operational Sector of Tindouf, a meeting via videoconferencing with the executives and personnel of the Region, where he delivered a speech emphasizing the interest granted by the People's National Army’s High Command in the human resources investment being the pillar of any thoughtful approach.
“The profound changes in modern modes of warfare inevitably prove that victory in battle is not only dependent on the quality of the armaments and sophistication of the weapons’ systems made available to the armies, but also essentially depends on the state of mind of the combatant, the quality of his training, the level of his physical and mental preparation and his ability to make relevant decisions in all circumstances, throughout the phases of the battle. As everyone knows, battles are won first and foremost in the hearts of men.
As such, the People's National Army has excellent human potential, with psychological and moral characteristics making them better fighters. It is because the Algerian man is the custodian of a historical legacy rich in glories and feats of arms, through the ages, and because the values of dignity, pride and freedom are deeply rooted in the collective consciousness.
To this end and in order to materialize the legitimate ambitions of the People's National Army, in terms of increasing power and operational availability, the PNA High Command ensured, in accordance with the guidelines of the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, that the investment in our human resource, as a pillar of all thoughtful approaches and strategies ".
The Lieutenant General underlined the fact that the success of the exercises effectively reflects the relevance of the real approach adopted in this context, and which aims to prepare our Armed Forces to face any unforeseen event with merit and in all conditions and circumstances:
"Going from this principle, the relevance of this objective approach for the promotion of the human resource capacities of the People's National Army, is reflected in particular by the success of the exercises, carried out each year at the end of the combat readiness programs of the Armed Forces.
Through these exercises, our main objective is to update and adapt our combat preparation programs to new challenges, optimize the professional cognitive, psychic and physical performances of soldiers, all ranks and categories combined, to meet our supreme ambitions, particularly, the preparation of our Armed Forces to face any emergency situation with merit, in all circumstances"
At the end, the Lieutenant General followed the interventions of the personnel of the 3rd Military Region and inquired at length about their concerns and suggestions. At the same time, he highlighted the sustained efforts made, particularly in the area of securing our national borders and the fight against organized crime and smuggling, just as he gave a set of general recommendations and guidelines.
At the end, the Lieutenant General proceeded to the inauguration of new barracks dedicated to one of the units - Southern Operational Sector of Tindouf, and reviewed the units deployed in this vital area before inquiring, about their living and working.
