Second day of the visit of the Lieutenant General, Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of PNA in the 6th Military Region
On the second day of his visit to the 6th Military Region, the Lieutenant General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of People's National Army supervised, at the shooting and manoeuvres polygon of the Operational Sector of Bordj Badji Mokhtar, the conduct of a tactical exercise with live ammunition, “Taouendert 2022”, carried out by units of the said Sector, supported by units of different Forces and arms.
At the beginning, the Lieutenant General followed a presentation given by the Commander of the 6th Military Region, about to the main idea and the stages of the exercise, which aims to optimize combat capabilities and interoperability between the various staff and to train the commands and the staff in the preparation, planning and conduct of operations facing of possible threats.
Then, at the shooting and manoeuvres polygon of the Operational Sector of Bordj Badji Mokhtar, the Lieutenant General followed, with Major General Mohamed AJROUD, Commander of the 6th Military Region and the Major General Belkacem HASNAT, Chief of the Employment and Preparation Department of the General Staff of People's National Army, the progress of all combat actions carried out by the mobilized units.
Characterized by professionalism and a high tactical and operational level, these combat actions reflect the great capacities of the crews and commands, at all levels, particularly in terms of appropriate exploitation of the field and coordination between the participating units. Just as they confirm the skills of the executives in terms of assembly and conduct of the various combat actions, as well as the mastery, by the crews, of the various weapon systems and provided equipment, which has contributed to very satisfactory results, reflected in the precision of the shots with the various weapons.
It should be noted that the exercise also saw the parachuting of detachments of Para-commandos under the protection of artillery and combat aircraft, whose mission was to destroy the forces of an unconventional enemy, who attempted to infiltrate the interior of the national territory. In addition, an operation was carried out to drop elements of the special troops into the depth of the enemy defences.
At the end of the exercise, the Lieutenant General met the personnel of the units that took part in this tactical exercise, in order to carry out an objective and real evaluation of the exercise stages, which was crowned a resounding success on all levels of planning, preparation and execution. The Lieutenant General presented his congratulations to the executives and personnel of the units engaged in this exercise, for the great efforts they have made throughout the year of combat preparation 2021-2022, also by emphasizing the imperative of bringing together all the necessary conditions for the benefit of the units and formations deployed throughout the territory of the 6th Military Region, so as to enable them to accomplish the assigned missions, particularly in terms of preparation and development of combat and operational capabilities.
Finally, the Lieutenant General inspected the logistics support units that contributed to the success of this exercise, before reviewing the units of the Operational Sector of Bordj Badji Mokhtar, and those engaged in the exercise.
